Be a part of In Harmony for a weekend of singing on 20th and 21st March 2010.
In Harmony celebrates social and cultural diversity through singing and in 2010 featured choirs will share a narrative in their native language through song cycles.
Sharing stories of people and place reflects the wealth of cultural heritage in our communities and enables people to find commonality, form connections and realise a sense of belonging.
Everyone who likes to sing either as individuals or members of a choir are invited to be In Harmony participants.
Through a day of workshops, you will learn a little about the musical culture of another country and learn to sing a work in another language. 2010 featured groups are Lőke, (Estonian ensemble); A.C.A.P.O.E.I.R.A (Brazilian Capoeirista) and Hunter Singers (Australian new works).
To celebrate your achievements, participants will perform the workshop songs as part of the In Harmony Choir, during the showcase concert at Riverside Theatre, Parramatta.
In Harmony attracts singers from all ages, areas of Sydney and level of singing experience.
Countries represented in previous In Harmony choirs include Australia, China, France, Germany, Holland, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Korea, Norway, Poland, South Africa, Sudan and Sweden.
